Ok so lets talk about kickstarter

Ok, so you may have read that Kickstarter seems to be the best thing since sliced bread, and you are all wondering how the "industry" is going to be changed by it.

I have to say that using it as a pre order system, to gauge if enough people want something, to justify commiting resources to it, seems like a reasonable and acceptable use.

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say that If Kickstarter is not used some ranges will not be available and choice for customers will reduce.

I am going to put some pictures up on here over the next few days whilst my website sits in limbo.

A first post, Wargaming in Bolsover

Just a short post on this blog about a few things.

Firstly I am Darren Webber, and I have been gaming for more than a few years.

I have decided to set up a wargames blog to describe my wargaming experiences.

I will use this blog to highlight new products from my business "the Beasts of Bolsover", to talk about the trials and tribulations of being a gamer, to moan about prices of figures and lots of other meaningless rubbish that occupies my mind!

Bolsover used to have a regular wargames club, run by me and Gary Slator, but that came to an end when it became too much of a financial strain.

I am hoping that proper historical gaming can flourish again in our local area.
