Painted Ladies in Lace

Just got a couple of pictures of the painted figures back from painter...
Ladies for the Lace Wars.
I think they look very good.

Of course since they are designed for imaginations games you can paint them how you wish.

  1. I'll comment only about the 18th C. Ladies for the Lace Wars.
    With the deepest regret I have to confess that I don't really like them. Oh, they are probably not worse than some rather recent Foundry (the SYW Gardes Françaises e.g.) but they are certainly not better. Nowadays, despite its 'peculiar charm' and 'nostalgia value' the sculpting level / style of the late "70 may pass for 15mm; but when it comes to 28mm having to compare with, say, Minden and Vesper-on (Carnevale) -not to speak of Guild of Harmony or Raging Heroes...

    Besides, some details of the clothes don't look 'right': the trousers of the middle one, the tricornes with too little or too much (the one on the left) crown...

    Please understand that these criticisms are intended to be constructive, and take them for a mark of friendship, which is what they really are;

    Best wishes,
    Jean-Louis

  2. I will not speak ill of other miniature companies here, and will pass on your constructive criticism to the two sculptors involved.

    (please pass a comment on the waist coat of the middle one..)
